Today's Skincare Test — Subject: Me

Yes, that's Bernadette the Porch Goose in the background. She saw this coming.

I fried.

Drama Free got called in.

I thought I was getting a healthy glow.

My face and the sun had other plans.

I got way more sun than I planned. Not a cute little glow. A full “well, that was a mistake” kind of red.

So I did what I always do when my skin starts protesting. I reached for Drama Free.

Then I decided to turn myself into a skincare experiment.

The first photo was taken right after I came inside. The second was twenty-four hours later.

Twenty-four hours later. Still a little pink. Much calmer.

Was every bit of redness gone? No.

Was my skin noticeably calmer by the next day? Absolutely.

That’s why Drama Free has earned its place in my skincare cabinet. It’s one of those products I don’t think about until I need it—and then I’m really glad it’s there.

This little experiment also reminded me of something else.

No skincare product replaces good sunscreen.

Prevention will always beat repair, and yesterday was a pretty good reminder that the Alabama sun does not negotiate.

And if I’m being really honest, I secretly do want that deep, dark tan—but what I usually end up with isn’t a tan at all, just sunburn and regret.

I want that healthy, rested, “I’ve been on vacation” glow.
