The Beauty of Looking Slightly Used
Some things get better when they stop looking brand new.
A little worn.
A little loved.
Still very much in the game.
I have never been very interested in looking untouched. At least not since I was old enough to make my own money.
Not with clothes.
Not with bags.
Not with jewelry.
Not with life.
Give me the leather that has softened.
The shoes with a few marks.
The glasses I actually wear.
The shirt that looks better after it has been washed and lived in.
There is a kind of beauty that only shows up after something has been used, loved, carried, chosen again, and kept.
That is the beauty I trust.
Brand new can be pretty.
But slightly used?
Slightly used usually has the better story.
Style Note:
If something makes you feel more like yourself, it does not have to look new to be worthy.
What is one thing in your closet that got better with time?
